The Participatory Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (OPRAM) was created to involve citizens in decision-making, promoting active and informed participation, and corresponds to a commitment made by the Regional Government of Madeira for 2019.As such, OPRAM is an effective means of participatory democracy, with the involvement of citizens, young people and adults, in the decision-making process of public policies at regional level.In this first edition, OPRAM has earmarked the global budget of 2.500.000,00 € (two million and five hundred thousand euros).

The youth area is subdivided into two themes: citizenship and healthy living habits.Pre-proposals may be municipal or supra-municipal if the proposal to be submitted has an impact on more than one municipality in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.One hundred and fifty thousand euros (€ 150,000.00) is reserved for each municipality, except for Porto Santo, which will amount to two hundred and fifty thousand euros (€ 250,000.00).
For supra municipal proposals are reserved 750.000,00 € (seven hundred and fifty thousand euros).
